Commands › Inventory
update_permissions
Set next-owner permissions on an item
Usage
curl -X POST "https://api.lifebots.cloud/api/bot.html" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"action": "update_permissions",
"apikey": "YOUR_API_KEY",
"botname": "Joe Resident",
"secret": "bot-secret-123",
"uuid": "5d2d7a1d-0e8e-4f5d-a678-000000000000",
"canCopy": "true",
"canModify": "false",
"canTransfer": "true",
"dataType": "json"
}' Every request also needs apikey, botname and secret — see Authentication.
Parameters
| Name | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
uuidUUID | yes | Inventory item UUID (not an asset UUID). Also accepted as: itemId |
canCopystring | no | true to allow, false to remove. Leave out to keep as is. |
canModifystring | no | true or false. |
canTransferstring | no | true or false. |
Example response
{
"result": "OK",
"resulttext": "Permissions updated for Welcome",
"nextOwner": "trans+copy"
} With dataType=json. A failure has result: "FAIL" and the reason in resulttext — see Responses & errors.
Good to know
- Only the exact word true sets a permission — 1 or True removes it.
- Changes next-owner permissions only. The item must already be loaded in the bot's inventory; list the folder first if the bot has only just logged in.
