move

Starts or stops moving in one direction, like holding down a key in a viewer. The movement continues until you stop it.

Usage

curl -X POST "https://api.lifebots.cloud/api/bot.html" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
  "action": "move",
  "apikey": "YOUR_API_KEY",
  "botname": "Joe Resident",
  "secret": "bot-secret-123",
  "instruction": "FORWARD",
  "param1": "START",
  "dataType": "json"
}'

Every request also needs apikey, botname and secret — see Authentication.

Parameters

NameRequiredDescription
instruction
string
yesFORWARD, BACKWARD, LEFT, RIGHT, FLY, TURNLEFT, TURNRIGHT or STOP (stops everything).
param1
string
noSTART or STOP. Required for every instruction except STOP.

Example response

{
  "success": true,
  "result": "OK",
  "resulttext": "Started FORWARD"
}

With dataType=json. A failure has result: "FAIL" and the reason in resulttext — see Responses & errors.

Good to know

  • Send instruction and param1 as text; numbers or true/false in JSON make the call fail.
