name2key

Find an avatar's UUID from their name

If the name cannot be looked up, the response is still result "OK", with key set to 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000. Treat that key as "not found".

Every request also needs apikey, botname and secret — see Authentication.

Good to know

  • Only the first page of Second Life's people search is checked, so the name must be exact.
