attach
Attach an object to a specific point
Usage
curl -X POST "https://api.lifebots.cloud/api/bot.html" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"action": "attach",
"apikey": "YOUR_API_KEY",
"botname": "Joe Resident",
"secret": "bot-secret-123",
"uuid": "5d2d7a1d-0e8e-4f5d-a678-000000000000",
"point": "RightHand",
"dataType": "json"
}' Every request also needs apikey, botname and secret — see Authentication.
Parameters
| Name | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
uuidUUID | yes | Inventory item UUID (not an asset UUID). Also accepted as: itemId |
pointstring | no | Attachment point name, e.g. Chest, Skull, LeftHand, RightHand, Spine, Pelvis, HUDCenter. Default: where it was last worn. Default: Default |
replacestring | no | false to add alongside what is already on the point. Default: true |
Example response
{
"result": "OK",
"itemName": "Coffee Cup",
"point": "RightHand",
"resulttext": "Attached Coffee Cup to RightHand"
} With dataType=json. A failure has result: "FAIL" and the reason in resulttext — see Responses & errors.
Good to know
- Use the point's code name without spaces (LeftHand, not "Left Hand"). An unknown name silently falls back to Default — check point in the response.
- OK means the request was sent, not that the object attached.
