About this script

AUTO FOLLOW

Turn your bot into a companion, escort or bodyguard. IM it "follow " and it walks with that avatar, staying a set distance away on the side you choose.

FEATURES

• Follow anyone on command Name any avatar, or just say "follow me".

• Set distance and side Stand to the left, to the right, in front or behind, at the distance you choose.

• Stays on the right side When the person turns on the spot, the bot moves round to stay on its side. It also stays on the right side when they walk backwards.

• Teleports when stuck If the bot is stuck on a wall, can't get through a door, or the person is on another floor or in a skybox, it teleports to its spot.

• Teleports when too far If the person gets further away than the distance you set, the bot teleports next to them.

• Waits when they leave If the person leaves the region or logs off, the bot stops and tells you. When they come back, it follows again. Only a "stop" command ends the follow.

• Picks up after restarts The current follow is saved, so it carries on after the script or bot restarts.

• Handles lag When the sim is slow, it pauses and tries again instead of flooding the bot with commands.

• Only people you trust can control it The owner, managers and the users you list can give commands. A no-follow list lets you block certain avatars.

COMMANDS (IM the bot)

follow - Start following that avatar follow me - Start following you stop - Stop following status - Who it's following, and how far away they are help - List the commands

  2. Press Start.
  3. IM the bot "follow me". That's it.

GOOD TO KNOW

• The bot follows within its current region. If the person teleports to another region, the bot waits for them to come back.

• Walk around normally for about 10 seconds the first time you use it. The bot needs this to learn how to read the direction avatars are facing. After that it keeps its side even when you turn on the spot or walk backwards. It only has to learn this once per bot.

• Teleports need access to the parcel. If a landing point or ban line blocks them, the bot tells you and keeps walking.

• The bot stands at its spot but doesn't turn to face the same way as you.
