LifeBots Bot Control HUD – Complete Guide
The LifeBots Bot Control HUD is an in-world control panel that allows you to directly operate and manage your bots inside Second Life without opening the website.
Using the HUD, you can move your bot, make it talk, send messages, teleport, interact with objects, and manage its login state — all in real time.
How to Get the LifeBots HUD
You can obtain the Bot Control HUD in two ways:
- From the LifeBots Dashboard by clicking Grab Bot Control HUD
- By visiting the LifeBots in-world store and clicking the HUD information board located on the left side when you enter
Once worn, the HUD automatically connects to your LifeBots account.
What the HUD Does (High-Level Overview)
The HUD acts as a live remote control for your bots.

All actions are executed securely through the LifeBots API.
Bot Selection & Login Control
The HUD allows you to manage multiple bots from a single interface.
- Select which bot you want to control
- Log the bot in
- Log the bot out
- Restart the bot
Only one bot is actively controlled at a time to prevent mistakes.
HUD Tabs Overview
The HUD is divided into multiple tabs, each focused on a different category of actions.
Tab 1 – Movement & Navigation
This tab allows you to control how your bot moves.
- Move forward, backward, left, and right
- Turn left or right
- Walk, run, or fly
- Stop movement instantly
These controls are useful for positioning bots precisely in scenes, events, or roleplay.
Tab 2 – Interaction & Positioning
This tab focuses on interacting with the world.
- Make the bot walk to you
- Teleport the bot to you or teleport yourself to the bot
- Touch objects by UUID
- Sit on objects
- Sit or stand anywhere
This makes it easy to place bots on furniture, stages, or interactive objects.
Tab 3 – Communication & Social Actions
This tab controls what the bot says and who it communicates with.
- Say messages in local chat
- Send instant messages to avatars
- Send group IMs
- Send group notices
- Send friend requests
- Withdraw L$ from the bot
All messages are sent exactly as entered, giving you full control.
HUD Dialogs & Input Boxes
Some actions require additional information, such as a message or avatar name.
In these cases, the HUD opens:
- Dialog menus (button-based)
- Text input boxes for longer content
Dialogs automatically timeout to prevent stuck menus.
Security & Reliability
The HUD is designed with safety in mind:
- Uses secure URLs issued per region
- Automatically re-registers on region change
- Prevents rapid spam requests
- Handles disconnects and expired sessions gracefully
If communication fails, the HUD will prompt you to retry or reattach.
HUD Display & Usability Features
- Minimize and expand the HUD
- Light and dark visual modes
- Visual status text showing login state
- Busy and success indicators
The HUD is optimized to be lightweight and responsive.
When Should You Use the HUD?
The Bot Control HUD is ideal for:
- Manually positioning bots for events or photos
- Testing bot movement and interactions
- Operating bots without opening the dashboard
- Live roleplay or performance control
- Quick administrative actions
HUD vs AI Automation
The HUD is a manual control tool.
- The HUD gives you direct control
- The AI system allows bots to act autonomously
Many users combine both: AI for behavior, HUD for supervision.
Troubleshooting Tips
- If the HUD stops responding, detach and reattach it
- If dialogs fail, wait for timeout and retry
- If a bot won’t respond, ensure it is logged in
- Region changes may require HUD re-registration
