How to Add a Sub Account to Manage Bots/Addons?

Sub Accounts let you share management access for your bots and addons with other users. This is useful if you’d like a team member or co-owner to handle certain tasks without giving them full access to your main account.

Follow the steps below to add a Sub Account:

1. Open the Sub Accounts page

  • From the left-side mini menu, click Others.
  • In the side menu that expands, click Sub Accounts.

2. Invite a user

  • On the top-right of the Sub Accounts page, click Invite User.
  • Enter the Second Life username of the person you want to invite.

3. Select bot and set permissions

  • Choose the bot you want to give them access to.
  • Expand the menu to set the appropriate permissions for that bot or any addons connected to it.

⚠️ Note:

  • The Control permission also gives HUD access in-world.
  • Be cautious with this permission if you do not want the sub account holder to fully operate your bot in Second Life.

4. Configure group permissions (optional)

  • If you want the sub account to have group-specific permissions:
  • Click the Groups tab.
  • Select the groups and addon permissions you want them to manage.

💡 Group permissions are used both for Shared Bot Groups and for group-specific addon permissions.

💡 Group permissions do not work with Advanced Notice.

5. Send the invite

  • Once everything is set, click Send Invite.
  • The user will receive an invitation to accept access to your bot/addon.
